Housatonic Habitat accepting applications for New Milford home

The second of four information sessions on the Habitat home application process will be held tomorrow at 10 am at ReStore, 51 Austin Street, Danbury.

According to Allison Homberg, Chair of Housatonic Habitat for Humanity's Family Partnership Committee, the local Habitat is currently breaking ground on its latest construction which is on Stonewall Court in New Milford.  The 3-bedroom home, which is expected to sell for $235,000, should be completed next fall.

Homberg said, "There are four main qualifications: (1) Live or work in our affiliate area; (2) Earn a household income between $50,000 and $70,000; Demonstrate a need for affordable housing; Fulfill 250 hours of "sweat" equity, including financial literacy training.

  • Thursday, Feb 16 at 7 pm at New Milford Town Hall, downstairs conference room
  • Saturday, Feb 18 at 3 pm at the JCPenney Court, 1st floor, Danbury Fair Mall, Danbury
