Letter to the Editor: Thank you to Immaculate High School & Ridgefield Community!

Some of the IHS National Honor Society that helped with the project

Thank you to Immaculate High School students and teachers, and the Ridgefield community for their support of the Adopt A Platoon project.

It is with great pleasure that we boxed up over 387 notes of encouragement and boxes of candy for the Navy Platoon that I am supporting in the Middle East.  Over 300 of our military is deployed in that particular platoon, and it is so awesome to support them the best we can and let them know we are so proud of their service and commitment to our country.

The National Honor Society at IHS volunteered each lunch hour for over a week to collect cards. Several graphic arts students at IHS designed beautiful posters that we included, and Ms. Neil's US history classes also participated with handwritten notes and Jared Hewitt (19') documented the project with several photos.

Many Ridgefield families also supported my efforts by contributing cards as well.  It was really amazing to see all the support from so many.  Thank you again.  I look forward to the next project in May.

Please let me know if you'd like to get involved. You can e-mail me: schmidtnoaht@gmail.com  Noah Schmidt, IHS '18.
