Mary J. Mahalik, 94, of Danbury has died

Mary J. Mahalik, 94, of Danbury, wife of the late Joseph Mahalik, died on Wednesday morning, February 15, 2017 at Bethel Health Care, Bethel.

Mrs. Mahalik was born in Danbury, December 23, 1922, a daughter of Joseph and Mary (Pane) Gigliotti. She attended local schools and was employed with the former New England Shirt Company and in later years, with the Barden Corporation as an inspector.

A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Mahalik was a member of St. Joseph Parish of Danbury.

She enjoyed gardening.

Mrs. Mahalik is survived by a son, Thomas J. Mahalik and his wife Patricia (Marmaras) Mahalik ; two sisters, Gilda Bostock and her husband Peter Rentz and Rose Testanero and her husband Angelo; two grandchildren, Christa and Michael and his wife Johanna; a great grandson Bradley and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Danbury.

Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Friday from 4 pm to 7 pm.
