Lifelong Danbury resident, Mamie M. Howard, has died

Mamie M. Howard, 93, of Danbury, wife of the late George Howard, died on Friday, March 17, 2017 surrounded by her family at home.

Mrs. Howard was born in Danbury, February 14, 1924, a daughter of James and Mary (Hanna) Salom. She attended Danbury schools and was employed with Fairfield Processing Company of Danbury.

In later years, she was a homemaker and enjoyed trips to the Mohegan Sun Casino.

A lifelong Danbury resident, Mrs. Howard was a member of St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church.

She is survived by three sons, Robert Howard, Michael Howard and George Howard and his wife Lisa; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, her former daughters in law, Wanda Rodriguez and Donna Mancuso and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Howard was predeceased by a brother, George Salom and by three sisters, Geraldine Malouf, Josephine Menichini and Lorice Barillari.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 10:30 am in St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 17 Granville Ave., Danbury.

Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 5 pm to 8 pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western CT, 30 Milestone Rd., Danbury, CT 06810 would be appreciated.
