Services planned for Vince McGee of Danbury

Charles V. “Vince” McGee

Charles V. “Vince” McGee, 88 of Danbury, ended his journey on earth and went home to be with his God, angels and saints on Saturday morning, September 16, 2017.

Vince was born in Norwalk, CT, February 22, 1929 a son of the late Edward P. Sr. and Margaret (Commins) McGee. He was a life time Danbury resident of Danbury attended St. Peter School and graduated from Danbury High School with the Class of 1947.

He was a U.S. Army veteran. In his early adulthood he resided in Danbury’s Wooster Village area where he was an active member of the Citizens Hose Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of St. Peter Parish.

Vince had worked for several years with the Castro Convertible Company when based in Danbury and later became a sales manager for New England Uniform Company where he retired from.

A kind, caring and concerned human being, Vince always had a good one line quip to add to the conversation. His memory will live on the minds and hearts which he so quietly and gently touched.

He will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his two brothers, Edward McGee III and his wife Valerie and Robert McGee Outerbridge; two sisters, Loretta Hissong and her husband Larry and Patricia McGee as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

In addition to his parents, Vince was predeceased by his brothers, Edward Jr., William, Paul, Jerome and James and by his sisters, Kathleen Baird, Mary Slaving and Helena Larsen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 1 p.m. in St. Peter Church, 121 Main Street., Danbury.

Interment will take place in St. Peter Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Tuesday from 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hancock Hall for their kindness, care and compassion shown to Vince as a resident for the past year.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Peter Church, 104 Main St., Danbury, CT 06810 would be appreciated.
