Kenneth P. Flynn, Jr., Danbury Hospital Employee and Miry Brook Fire Dept. Volunteer, has Died

Kenneth P. Flynn, Jr.

Kenneth P. Flynn, Jr., lovingly known as “Coach Grandpa,” of Danbury passed away on January 17, 2018. Born in Danbury, Ken was a life-long resident. He is predeceased by his father, Kenneth P. Flynn, Sr., and his brother, Richard Flynn. He is survived by his wife, Linda, his mother Mary, his children Kevin and Cecily Flynn, Carrie and Dave Carlson, Katie Flynn, and Chris and Vikki Salese. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren: Shawn, Sara and Megan Carlson, Isabella, Gabrielle, and Alyssa Flynn, and Grant and Noah Salese as well as his siblings Deborah, Bridget, Edward, Mary Lou, Patrick, and Timothy. 

Ken was a dedicated employee of Danbury Hospital for 39 years, and a volunteer firefighter at Miry Brook Fire Department. He loved playing softball. He enjoyed time coaching, especially his grandchildren’s baseball teams. He was an avid sports fan, traveler, and student of history. Ken was a loyal and generous friend who had an infectiously happy and positive attitude. 

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 10:30 am in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury.

Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home on Monday, January 22, 2018 from 6 pm to 8 pm.
