Annual Green Chimneys Event to Feature Over 100 Birds of Prey

Green Chimneys continues its famous tradition with the 24th Annual Birds of Prey Day on Sunday, June 5 from 10:00am – 4:30pm. The day of fun, flight and falconry will feature more than 100 birds of prey on display with falconers from across New York and Connecticut.

Birds of Prey Day offers families and animal enthusiasts a chance to get “up close and personal” with majestic eagles, hawks, owls and falcons. High points of the day include free-flying raptors, live animal demonstrations, and the day comes to a close with the ceremonial release of a rehabilitated bird with the help of a graduating student; a very significant moment for Green Chimneys’ staff and student rehabilitators as well as the numerous wildlife professionals in attendance. Other animal highlights include introductions to exotic species under the main tent, the animal residents of the Green Chimneys Farm & Wildlife Center and always, some four-footed (or no-footed) surprise guests! This year’s event will also feature an art show displaying the work of some very talented Green Chimneys students.
