WCSU announces spring Coffeehouse schedule


Western Connecticut State University has released its Midtown Coffeehouse schedule for spring 2017.

The Coffeehouse will include a weekly 8 p.m. open mic, followed at 9 p.m. by a featured act performance, on Thursdays during the spring semester in the Colonial Corner (formerly the downstairs cafeteria and snack bar, Student Center) on the university's Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. Admission is free and open to the public; donations to support the Coffeehouse are welcome.
Featured performers will include:

·       Feb 16: Christian Mortera - soul, jazz, R&B and pop

·       Feb. 23: WCSU Student Jazz Ensemble. Learn more here

·       March 2: All Night Open Mic

·       March 9:  Touré Richardson  - R&B, soul, gospel and pop

·       March 23:  Nick Arne - jazz

·       March 30: Matthew Popp and Post No Bills - country

·       April 6: The Band Dakota- alternative and country

·       April 13: All Night Open Mic

·       April 20: Natalie Gelman- acoustic folk, rock and indie. Gelman will open for Bon Jovi on Feb. 28 in Sacramento, California.

·       April 27: Rhett Price - contemporary violinist

·       May 4: All Night Open Mic
