New Danbury Biz Hiring Kitchen Manager & Cook

Pour Me Coffee & Wine Cafe, winner of 3rd Place at Chili Winter Warm-up, will open doors on Danbury's Main Street in May. The soon-to-open cafe is hiring a kitchen manager and cook.

When community entrepreneur, Andrea Gartner, campaigns for her new "concept eatery," Pour Me Coffee & Wine Cafe, specializing in fast-fine food, she doesn't wait until the doors are open. The former Executive Director of CityCenter Danbury, who oozes - yes, pours - with uncontained enthusiasm about Downtown Danbury's potential to grow and prosper, instead entered the Danbury Westerners' 9th annual Chili Winter Warm-Up competition, and snagged 3rd Place in the Restaurant/Caterer Category with her Rocket Fuel Vegan Chili. When the doors open in May at Pour Me, located at 274 Main Street, Danbury, you'll understand what the buzz is all about. This winner represents the best of entrepreneurship: the spirit of enterprise, the spirit of civic virtue, and the spirit of community.

With a passion to do all things local, by her side is newly hired kitchen manager/chef, Matt Rieve, who couldn't be more pleased that Pour Me showed third in the competition. Matt comes to Pour Me from a stint at Figs Wood Fire Bistro in Sandy Hook, where he applied his studies at the Connecticut Culinary Institute to this popular "hidden gem" (Zagats).  He is a graduate of Bethel High School, and with Andrea, will lead a lineup of staff, suppliers, social media influencers, and others, all of whom reflect Andrea's desire to pull from the local talent pool.

Pour Me is now hiring servers, bussers, runners, cooks, dishwashers, cashier, and baristas. Applications can be picked up at the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut, 287 Main Street, Danbury or by visiting http://bit.ly/2nzBLcp on line. Interviews are being held by appointment on Tuesdays, 9:30am to 12:30pm, and Thursdays, 12:30pm to 3:30pm. For general inquiries, the public may write to info@pourmect.com
