Danbury Hospital Receives $3,000 Donation to Purchase a Cuddle Cot for the Family Birth Center

DANBURY, Connecticut – August 3, 2017 – The Danbury Hospital Family Birth Center received a generous $3,000 donation from The Church of the Epiphany-Upper Room Thrift Shop in Southbury to purchase a Cuddle Cot - a medical cooling system that delays changes to a stillborn infant. Cuddle Cots allow parents to spend more time in the hospital to grieve the loss of their newborn child. Funds raised by The Upper Room Thrift Shop benefit area outreach programs.

“I learned about the Cuddle Cot then contacted Danbury Hospital to find out if they had one,” said Dorrie Johnson, Upper Thrift Shop volunteer. At the time, they didn’t, and we wanted them to have one because it’s a compassionate piece of equipment that will help provide comfort to families experiencing the loss of an infant.”
