Mayor Boughton announces completion of Rogers Park Pond Beautification Project

Mayor Mark Boughton has announced that the Rogers Park Pond beautification project has been completed. With 56 acres of land including sports fields, courts, a playground and a spray park, the completion of the pond beautification project brings passive recreation back to Rogers Park and distinguishes the park as one of Danbury's premier facilities.

"It is important for us as a city to cultivate and showcase our natural resources for our residents to enjoy," said Mayor Boughton. "Our hope is that this park revitalization will not only showcase some of Danbury's splendor but allow more residents to enjoy the wonderful outdoor amenities we have right here in the city,"

Superintendent of Public Services, Timothy P. Nolan said that there were some considerable renovations including the trimming back of dead trees and brush to establish healthier foliage and re-finishing the two existing pond bridges.

To maintain a healthy aquatic environment, the City treated the current algae population by applying algaecide and installing four underwater aerators and one aerating fountain.
