Rep. Arconti to Chair Young Legislators

Arconti Becomes Young Legislator Leader

State Representative David Arconti (D-Danbury) has been named chair of the General Assembly’s Young Legislator’s Caucus.

“I want to thank my colleagues for having the confidence in me to play a leadership role in our caucus,” said Rep. Arconti, who will be chair of young House Democrats. “I look forward to working with my fellow young legislators on both sides of the aisle to pass meaningful legislation to benefit the future of Connecticut and to keep and attract young people to live in our state.”

Members of the Young Legislator’s Caucus come from the ranks of Democrats and Republicans in both the House and the Senate -- all under the age of 40. Rep. Arconti says they will meet periodically during the 2017 General Assembly session, develop personal and professional relationships, and promote bipartisan legislation that’s in the best interest of all.

The Caucus will also reach out to young people in their communities. The legislators hope to demonstrate to a new generation about the benefits of public service for a brighter future.

Note: There are currently 26 state representatives and 2 state senators under the age of 40.
