Connecticut man who led police on chase arrested for DWI

On July 18, 2016, New York State Police from Stormville arrested 54-year-old Michael A. Lalli, of New Milford, Connecticut, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Class D Felony, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st Degree, a Class E Felony, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, and other traffic offenses.

Troopers observed a Ford Explorer traveling in excess of 75 miles per hour southbound on the Taconic State Parkway. The vehicle exited at Beekman Road and then re-entered the Taconic State Parkway southbound, trying to avoid being stopped by police.  With his emergency lights and siren activated, the Trooper pursued the driver on to Interstate 84 eastbound, where the driver ultimately came to a stop.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Michael A. Lalli, was intoxicated at the time of the traffic stop.  Further investigation revealed that his New York State Driving privileges were revoked due to two prior DWI related convictions.  As result, he was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st Degree and Felony DWI.

Lalli provided a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .13%.  The Town of East Fishkill Justice Court advised that Lalli was to be released on his own recognizance.  Lalli was directed to appear in the Town of East Fishkill Court on July 27, 2016.
