Jerry Seinfeld still does it.
And soon, they say, Jay Leno will be, too.
What are they doing?
They are "trying out" their newest material in front of a live audience.
Although neither Seinfeld nor Leno will be appearing locally anytime soon, an "Open Mic Night" means it's a good chance for YOU to come out and hear the newest and freshest material from up-and-coming local musicians, comedians, magicians and other performers who need a stage...and an audience.
That's where you come in: to be part of the audience.
This Thursday's "Open Mic Night" at the WestConn Coffeehouse features opening act Dan Mustin on guitar, plus a variety of acts from throughout the Danbury area.
NEW PERFORMERS: SHOW UP, SIGN UP, HIT THE STAGE
The live entertainment begins with Dan Mustin at 8PM and continues until 10PM, or until the performers run out of material (!). New performers are always welcome. If you're an entertainer, you can just show up and sign up, beginning at 7:30PM that night.
The event is at Alumni Hall on Dr. James Roach Blvd. on the Midtown Campus of Western Connecticut State University (WestConn/WCSU) in Danbury.
Each Thursday's Coffeehouse is completely free. Free admission, PLUS free food, free snacks, free soda, and, of course, free coffee (hey, it's a coffeehouse!). Also, plenty of free parking just across White Street in the campus parking garage.
