In advance of the expected severe snowstorm beginning overnight tonight into Wednesday, Western Connecticut State University (WestConn/WCSU) announced Tuesday evening to cancel all classes and activities for tomorrow, Wednesday, February 5. Also, all classes and activities for WCSU at Naugatuck Valley Community College are also cancelled.
This announcement was made at 8:56PM on the University web site, www.WCSU.edu, and at 9:04 directly notificed students, staff and faculty via normal electronic methods including email, text, and automated phone calls.
Essential personnel should report for work as usual.
However, remaining open to serve the many students living on campus (on both the Midtown and Westside campuses), both Student Campus Centers will be open from 10:00AM to 7:00PM on Wednesday, February 5, and Dining Services will be available from 10:00AM to 6:30PM. The game room will be closed.
The University Shuttle will not operate for the day on Wednesday, February 5.
During all snow storms, faculty, Staff and students must move their vehicles from all surface lots including University Boulevard. This restriction is to simplify the snow removal process. Failure to move vehicles from these areas may result in towing.
