WestConn Closed Today (2/3)

(Danbury, CT - February 3, 2014) HamletHub News Service --

Due to the forecast predicting 3 to 6 inches of snow in Danbury today, Western Connecticut State University (WestConn/WCSU) announced at 5:20AM this morning that they will be closed for the day.

This means all classes and activities at the University today are cancelled, but essential personnel are being asked to report for work as usual.

The announcement came via email, text message, online, and by automated phone calls to students, staff, and faculty.

On their web site, www.wcsu.edu, there was additional info explaining that the University Shuttle will not operate for the day.

However, both Student Centers, on the Midtown and Westside campuses, will be open from 10AM to 7PM today and Dining Services will be open from 10AM to 6:30PM today.

Faculty, Staff and students are reminded to move their vehicles from all surface lots including University Boulevard during snow storms. This restriction is for the facilitation of the snow removal process. Failure to move vehicles from these areas may result in towing.
