NephCure Fundraising Walk to be Held at Sherwood Island on May 20

Chances are, with the temperatures rising, you'll spend a fair amount of time enjoying the outdoors at one of our local parks. On May 20, you can do that while also supporting a good cause at the Second Annual NephCure Walk, to be held at Sherwood Island State Park.

The NephCure Foundation supports research seeking the cause of the potentially debilitating kidney diseases, Nephrotic Syndrome and Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), with the goals of improving treatment and finding a cure. The walk raises funds and awareness while also providing a fun day of family activities.

There is no registration fee, but there is a $13 parking fee ($22 for non-Conn. residents). All walkers who raise $100 or more receive a free T-shirt at the walk.

Event Schedule:

Registration: 9 - 10 a.m.

Opening remarks and Walk Kick-Off: 10 – 10:15 a.m.

Walk: 10:15 – 11:30 a.m.

Basket raffle, entertainment, and games: 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
