Grand Prix film event supports The Ridgefield Playhouse on Thursday, March 12

Gear heads will be able to get their fix at The Ridgefield Playhouse when the Academy Award winning classic American action film Grand Prix is screened in HD on Thursday, March 12, at 7 p.m. The international cast includes James GarnerEva Marie SaintYves MontandBrian BedfordJessica Walter and Antonio Sabàto. Its unique racing cinematography is one of the main draws with real-life racing footage and cameo appearances by Formula One World Champions Phil HillGraham HillJuan Manuel FangioJim ClarkJochen RindtJack Brabham and others. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. One of the ten highest grossing films of 1966Grand Prix won three Academy Awards for its technical achievements. As the story goes, a race day accident involving Jordan-BRM teammates Pete Aron and Scott Stoddard leaves Stoddard critically injured. During Stoddard's recovery, Aron becomes involved with his wife who seems determined to leave Scott. At the same time, drivers Jean-Pierre Sarti and Nino Barlini also have chronicled love affairs with Louise Frederickson, an American journalist, and Lisa.
