On behalf of Darien Rowayton Bank, President Robert Kettenmann presents a check to Betsy McNeil of NGTE for sponsorship of their “Play in May” men’s and women’s doubles tennis tournament to be held on Saturday, May 6th at country clubs in Darien followed by a gala at Country Club of Darien. Evening festivities with a Kentucky Derby theme include a dinner, open bar, live auction and casino style games. Proceeds benefit Norwalk Grassroots Tennis & Education.

“We are incredibly thankful to Darien Rowayton Bank for their ongoing support of our kids,” says Betsy. “Their generosity has played a critical role in our ability to serve more kids through tennis and education.”

NGTE provides free, year-round programming to children who qualify for free/reduced-price lunch, growing in 21 years from serving 15 youth to touching the lives of nearly 500 children last year through tennis and education. Children living in low-income communities have substantially less access to the opportunities, resources and services needed for success than those from affluent areas. NGTE is providing a unique solution to address the needs in Norwalk by engaging underserved youth through tennis, offering a safe and welcoming family environment, and providing them comprehensive support to meet their academic, physical, and social-emotional needs so they can graduate high school prepared for college and/or a career, putting them on a path toward greater opportunity and success.
