Short Stories Go to War Tomorrow at This Darien Library Literary Discussion

John Blyberg, Assistant Director of Innovation and User Experience at the Library, will team up with Carroll Stenson on Tuesday, August 19th at 3 PM to discuss the significance of the poetry of WWI and its effect on literature.

Carroll and John will each read some poems that illustrate the impact of war on both men and women. With Carroll's degree in English Literature and John's degree in English with a concentration in creative writing, they are both well qualified to lead this conversation.

Carroll will then lead a discussion of the story, "Editha" by William Dean Howells. The story written in 1905 concerns the topic and theme of war [in this case the Spanish –American War] both realistically and romantically..
