Darien Library Hosts "Connecticut Beer" Author Will Siss on Aug. 4

The Darien Library will welcome local beer historian Will Siss, author of "Connecticut Beer: A History of Nutmeg State Brewing," on Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 7 p.m. Siss will lead a discussion of the history of beer in Connecticut and provide profiles for nearly all existing breweries. His talk will include samples of beer from Half Full Brewery.

Siss has written the column “Beer Snob” for the Waterbury (Conn.) Republican-American since 2005. He has worked as a reporter for Republican-American and Manchester (Conn.) Journal-Inquirer. He earned a Master’s degree from the Columbia University School of Journalism and a Bachelor’s degree in English from Gettysburg College. He blogs at beersnobwrites.com, leads beer tastings, and teaches middle school language arts.
