RVNA Presents Bone Health: Staying Strong at Darien Senior Center

Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association (RVNA) is organizing a Motivational Monday’s informative talk on Monday, November 7th on the subject of “Bone Health: Staying Strong” at the Darien Senior Center in Darien. Did you know that osteoporosis isn’t a natural part of aging? However, as we age, we do lose bone. This loss can cause osteoporosis where bones can get so thin that they break. Sadly, fractures from osteoporosis are a leading cause of disability.

The positive news is that there is a great deal you can do to keep your bones healthy and strong. Join Katherine Lasberg, RVNA Community Health & Wellness Nurse to learn how diet and nutrition support bone health, what the role of calcium and vitamin D are in maintaining healthy bones, and why weight-bearing exercise is a key benefit of bone health and strength. This event, which will take place on Monday, November 7th, from 11am to Noon, is free and open to the public. Attendees should RSVP to Darien Senior Center at 203-655-1705. Darien Senior Center is located at 2 Renshaw Road in Darien.
