The Wallflowers bring their latest tour to The Ridgefield Playhouse with a night of classic hits on June 29

The Ridgefield Playhouse and Pepsi Rock Series Powered by xfinity bring Grammy Award-winning rockers The Wallflowers back to the stage for a night of hits on Thursday, June 29 at 8 p.m.   The band is best known for their Billboard Chart-topping hits “One Headlight,” (which is also listed at #58 in Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Greatest Pop Songs) “6th Avenue Heartache” and “Three Marlenas” among many others.

The Wallflowers formed in 1989, and in 1992 released their classic self-titled debut album, which included songs like “For the Life of Me,” and “Another One in the Dark.” From there they skyrocketed with 1996’s "Bringing Down the Horse,"" which went quadruple platinum, won two Grammys, and was praised by everyone from Bruce Springsteen to Tom Petty. It produced famous hits like “6th Avenue Heartache,” “One Headlight,” “Three Marlenas,” and “The Difference.”

The Wallflowers went on to release three more records between 2000 and 2005, absolute rock and roll perfection, and more radio smashes like "Murder 101"", a duet with Elvis Costello, "Sleepwalker,” and "Here He Comes.” When it comes to alternative rock music, it's no surprise that the Wallflowers absolutely dominated the scene during their prime.

Ticket holders can enjoy two special offers - visit Little Pub (59 Ethan Allen Hwy, Ridgefield) for lunch the day of the show and enjoy a FREE glass of house wine or draft beer with your entree when you show your ticket and you can also check out Bailey’s Backyard (23 Bailey Avenue, Ridgefield) for dinner and receive 10% off when you show your ticket!

The Wallflowers, the rock band fronted by Jakob Dylan, first blossomed in Los Angeles in 1989. In the first half of this decade, they were part of many exclusive performances including a Live at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame concert for MTV, and a special televised concert for VH1, Live at Alcatraz. The Wallflowers were the first band to ever play a concert on the infamous island.

For tickets ($75), call the box office at 203-438-5795, or visit ridgefieldplayhouse.org.  The Ridgefield Playhouse is a non-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT.
