New Canaan Library Hosts Timely Talk from Silver Hill Hospital

It's barely November but the pre-holiday frenzy is building already. “All too often the demands of the holiday season leave us in a whirlwind of stress that turns delights into fights and flights," states Bruce Singer, Psy.D, Program Director of the Chronic Pain and Recovery Center at Silver Hill Hospital.   New Canaan Library is pleased to offer another way to approach the holidays with a special talk presented by Silver Hill Hospital on Thursday, November 20, 2014 in the Library's Adrian Lamb Room at 7 PM.

Bruce Singer, Psy.D will offer tips on how to be more mindful this season. He will also lead a brief meditation, demonstrating how taking a few moments every day to center and ground yourself can give everyone around you the most rewarding gift of all: your calm presence.

In addition, Anne Romano M.L.I.S., Director of Library Services at Silver Hill Hospital, will introduce and display books she recommends for dealing effectively with stress, supply a bibliography of books and websites on stress reduction techniques and offer tips on finding the best websites that deal with the topic.
