Knee Hi to Nature - Age 2
Mommy & Me
Spend a special hour each week with your inquisitive 2 year old as we will look, listen, smell and feel the world around us. We will explore the forest, pond, gardens and fields in Cherry Lawn Park while we watch the seasons change from the warm sunny days of early autumn to cool mornings with leaves falling from the trees and the first snowflakes of winter. Nature Time For Twos - Age 2-drop off
Two year old children will have many exciting stories to bring home as they learn about nature through our special curriculum designed just for them. The children will start by exploring the fall season. They will observe the weather getting cooler, the leaves starting to change color and the animals starting to collect food to store for the long winter months. We will also visit the animals in our zoo room and feel the softness of the bunny, chinchilla and ferret and the hard shell of the turtles. Additional Information |

Critters & Kids - Age 3+
Calling all animal lovers! Critters and Kids is just for you. This hands-on, animal-centered program is where kids will discover nature from an animal's perspective. Finding food, building homes, raising young and surviving the weather are some of the challenges facing our native wildlife. Using the Nature Center's live animal collection to bring these realities to life, children will learn how Mother Nature has built each creature to survive. Additional Information |

Nature's Playroom - Age 3+
Outside and in nature is where you will find the young children enrolled in Nature's Playroom. With the pond, field and forest to explore, children will have many opportunities to build an awareness and appreciation of the world around them. Building on their natural curiosity, the children's interests will help guide each day. Whether it be birds, bugs or berries, the Darien Nature Center staff will work with your children to help them understand the natural world.
