Sigourney Weaver hosts Westport Playhouse Gala

Editor's note: HamletHub contributor, Alex Fischetti, was in attendance on Monday evening for the Westport Country Playhouse annual fall Gala. Here's his recap of the star-studded evening:

The red carpet was rolled out, individuals of High Society arrived looking like a billion dollars and the town of Westport was all abuzz with excitement as The Westport Country Playhouse had it's annual gala this Monday evening.

With AMAZING auction items such as lunch with Christopher Plummer and a trip to Italy and big names such as James Naughton and senator Richard Blumenthal in attendance, it was the kind of glitz and glamour you would expect from a venue that has been putting on plays that have been entertaining audiences in Fairfield County and beyond for close to 100 years.

This year's honoree was the legendary playwright A.R Gurney who wrote the world famous play Love Letters and the evening's festivities were co hosted by superstar actress Sigourney Weaver.
