Creative Writing Workshops Begin at Westport Writers' Workshop in January

Writers seeking a skilled, supportive environment to work on their craft, take note: Creative writing workshops begin in January at Westport Writers’ Workshop. Sessions include four to eight-week courses in multiple genres. Click here for the list of courses.

Yours truly is looking forward to teaching a six-week Introduction to Fiction and Nonfiction class on Monday evenings from 7 – 9 p.m.

The course will focus on the building blocks of writing craft, combining reading and writing exercises with discussion. Among the topics we will cover are developing narrative voice and characters, crafting scenes, building tension, tackling revision, and getting unstuck. An underlying goal through this process is to build a writer’s habit that enables you to be the boss of your muse (to put it in the vernacular).

Westport Writers’ Workshop is located at 3 Sylvan Rd. in Westport. For more information call Maureen (203) 227-3250, visit westportwritersworkshop.com, or email info@westportwritersworkshop.com.
