Laura Procaccini Sabia, 97, of Stamford, passes away peacefully at her home on Sunday July 26, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Laura was born in Darien, CT on August 10, 1917 to the late Antonio and Rosario Maria DeRosa Procaccini.
Laura is survived by her daughter Janet Ferrara of Stamford and her two granddaughters, Lori Ferrara of Stamford and Nancy Ferrara-Horta and her husband Jorge Horta of Naugatuck, CT.
Besides her parents, Laura is predeceased by her husband Patsy J. Sabia, her son Patsy T. Sabia, her son in law Paul C. Ferrara, brothers Serfina Procaccini and Frank Procaccini and her sister Angie Seaman.
A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT on Friday July 31, 2015 at 10:00AM and proceed to Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior on Friday from 9:00 to 10:00AM.
