Darien Resident, Donna Rogers, has passed at 58

Today, the color and sparkle of the world dimmed slightly with the loss of Donna Rogers, beloved wife, mother and friend. Donna, 58, of Darien passed away peacefully at home on Friday November 20, 2015. She was born in Buffalo, NY on March 25, 1957 to the late Alfred E. Ignaszak and Theresa Ignaszak.

In the words of her favorite musical "Wicked" Donna defied gravity and dared to fly high throughout her life and brought joy, laughter, and Andes mints to everyone she touched.

In town, Donna was a dedicated volunteer at the Darien Historical Society, Junior League of Stamford- Norwalk and served as a member of the Representative Town Meeting. Donna served as the Director of Finance at Villa Maria School before retiring in July 2015.

But those who loved her best, the ones charged with carrying on her legacy of strength and caring, knew her as the mother who loved nothing more than spending time with her family on a warm sunny beach.

Donna is survived by her devoted husband Timothy Rogers of Darien, her loving children Courtney Rogers of Darien, Erik Rogers and his wife Kristin of Darien, her loving mother Theresa Ignaszak of Hebron, CT, sisters Paula Cummings and her husband William of Hebron, CT and Candi Jankowski and her husband Tom of Buffalo, NY, and her Havanese puppy Jack.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 23, 2015 at St. Thomas More RC Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien at 10:30AM. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT on Sunday, November 22, 2015 from 2:00-6:00PM.

The Rogers family kindly requests that guests in attendance wear their favorite Lilly Pulitzer or Vineyard Vines outfits (no black please) in Donna's honor.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in Donna's memory to the Villa Maria School, 161 Sky Meadow Drive, Stamford, CT 06903.
