Paintings take a back seat in the RAC gallery in September--it’s photography and sculpture front and center. The new exhibit features the work of RAC’s exhibiting members and opens Sunday, September 4. But the opening reception is Sunday, September 11 (4-6pm), delayed due to the Labor Day holiday; it is free and open to the public. “Ageless Art” by 4 artists with combined lifetime experience of over 300 hundred years will be featured in the Portside Gallery. The artists featured are Hu Lindsay, Merion Frolich, Stan Pastore and Bela Szabo.

The “Photography and Sculpture” chair is Robert Sachs and the co-chair is Anne Salthouse. The judge is award winning commercial photographer, Kevin Robinson. Portside Gallery chair is Amy Schott. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 12 - 5pm, Sunday, 1 - 4pm.

Mark your calendars for the next exhibit, “Expressions” in October. This is an open call for artists. Our special guest, Senator Bob Duff, will be there to present for the first time ever, the “Senator’s Selection” award. Opening reception is Sunday, October 2, 4-6pm.

Other upcoming events:  Poetry and Art with Norwalk’s Poet Laureate, Laurel Peterson, on Wednesday, September 21, 6:30 pm and in October, a Craft Beer Tasting Event: Friday, October 7, 7pm.
