The CT DMV has posted on their website that they will be closing early today, August 21st, at 2pm, due to a high volume of customers. They will re-open tomorrow, Saturday, at 8am.
This rush of customers is a likely the result of the DMV being shut down for a week while it upgraded their systems. Be advised if you are planning a trip to the DMV within the next couple of weeks that lines will be longer than usual.
The DMV is well aware of this, therefore they have extended registration of licenses and plates on or after August 11th for an additional tow months, till October 10th.
Be sure to check out the DMV's new site and explore what services are now being online, so that you can avoid long lines and waits.
