Klaff’s gives very generous donation to the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum

Klaff’s, Connecticut’s leading resource for home design products, has donated to the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum a portion of the proceeds from this year’s Klaff’s Jerry Levine Charity Golf Outing. The donation was presented by Klaff’s Chairman and Chief Operating Officer Joe Passero to museum officials on Friday, December 11 at 11:30 a.m. at 295 West Avenue in Norwalk.

“Supporting the Mansion, a National Historic Landmark and icon of Victorian era architecture and design, has been an important part of our charitable endeavors for many years,” says Joe Passero, a longtime Trustee of the Museum.  “The Mansion is a major artistic and cultural destination for our communities and we are proud to support its vision and mission.”

The donation of $8,811.90 is one of the largest corporate gifts the museum has received this year. “We are very grateful to have received Klaff’s generous support again this year,” said Patsy Brescia, LMMM Chairman of the Board of Trustees. “This charitable donation and the Museum’s ongoing relationship with Klaff’s have been invaluable to the Museum’s mission and its future.”

Klaff’s Home Design Center was founded in South Norwalk, Connecticut, in 1921 as a family-owned, wholesale plumbing supply store. Today, Klaff’s is the largest independent upscale home design retailer in the country, owned and operated by the second and third generations of the Klaff family.  In addition to its main showroom in South Norwalk, Klaff's operates two other full-service home design stores in Danbury, Connecticut, and Scarsdale, New York.  Each store offers the same extensive merchandise selection and categories covering lighting, bath, kitchens, decorative hardware, tile & stone enhanced by premier customer service and unsurpassed home design expertise.

“The Board of Trustees and I are very grateful for Klaff’s continued and very generous support, “says LMMM Executive Director Susan Gilgore.  “This donation will have a major impact on our future school tours, our cultural and educational programs, and the preservation of this magnificent landmark.”
