AquaScarium Halloween Prowl at The Maritime

AquaScarium Halloween Prowl at The Maritime Oct. 22-23 & 29-30 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

There's no trick about this treat as the Aquarium transforms into the AquaScarium, with an admission discount for kids in costume, safe trick-or-treating, special activities and lots of safe (non-scary) family fun.

Come to the AquaScarium in costume on Oct. 22-23 and 29-30 and get one free child’s admission (a $15.95 value) with each paying adult. Adult admission is $22.95.   (The offer is not available for advance online purchases.)

There will be safe trick-or-treating throughout the galleries.

The normal toy boat-building workshop transforms into the Halloween Carve & Create Station, where guests can decorate a keepsake. Pick from a real mini pumpkin ($7) or a forever artifical pumpkin ($15).  And watch as a master carver creates Halloween works of art for display in the Aquarium, er ... AquaScarium.

Face-painters will enhance Halloween alter egos, turning guests into wild creatures, superheroes, princesses and more. Face-painting times are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Cost is $5.  Supplying the artistry will be Wells Noonan of Face-Painting by Wells (Oct. 22, 29 & 30) and Picasso Parties (Oct. 23).

And a dragon will be loose … but not too loose … at a "Meet the Dragon" station, where guests can touch or hold a bearded dragon from the "Dragons: Real or Myth?" exhibit. Times are 11 a.m.-noon, 1-2 and 3-4 p.m.

The AquaScarium itself will be ghoulishly decorated for Halloween, with the possibility that wolffish, mummichogs and sculpin could transform into were-wolffish, mummy-chogs and skull-pin!

Admission:  FREE admission for children in costume when accompanied by a paying adult.

The Maritime Aquarium is located at 10 North Water Street in Norwalk, CT 06854
