The 250,000 Prospector Theater Customer Gets Once in a Lifetime Movie-Going Experience!

Yesterday, a dreary and wet day, the Prospector Theater team bestowed cheer and sunshine upon one lucky patron.

Unbeknownst to Nicholas Chiappetta, he was about to purchase the $250,000 ticket sold at the Prospector Theater. Joy abounds as Chiappetta is ushered into the Theater with cheer, balloons and popcorn. (View the video on the Prospector Facebook Page here.)

“Woo-hoo! Our 250,000 ticket was sold since grand opening! We loved surprising our 250,000th customer during yesterday's rainstorm!” remarked Prospector Theater founder and owner, Valerie Jensen.

Chiappetta wrote on the Prospector Theater Facebook Page, “Thank you all so much! And congratulations on your 250,000 ticket sold. I'm glad it was me! Good luck on your next 250,000!”

Two years ago The Prospector Theater opened its doors at 25 Prospect Street with a mission of providing meaningful employment to people with disabilities through the operation of a premium, first-run movie theater.

Under the leadership and vision of the Theater's founder, Val Jensen, they have accomplished that - and so much more.

“We are the 2nd highest grossing 4 screen movie theater in the United States,” says Jensen. The first happens to be a 2000 seat theater in New York City. “With only 330 seats in our theaters we work hard to keep our audiences happy and entertained,” adds Jensen.

While Theater patrons are treated to a first-class movie-going experience at the Prospector, Jensen reminds us that the magic of the Prospector truly happens behind the scenes. “As we work, we are constantly improving our training & coaching of Prospects,” she says.

Uncovering what Jensen calls the Prospects “inner sparkle” is at the core of the Theater’s mission. “We want to help light the way for people with disabilities to work and show their talents, abilities, and value,” she says.

Be sure to visit the the Theater (25 Prospect Street), give the Prospects a high-five, buy some popcorn, go see a movie, and support the Theater's mission!
