“The Emerging Goddess” Work by Christa Forrest - Solo Exhibition at Stamford Loft Artists Gallery March 16 – April 22, 2018

Opening Reception, March 23, 6 to 9 pm

Stamford, CT December 20, 2017 – “The Emerging Goddess” will showcase the work of Stamford Artist, Christa Forrest in the Phillips Gallery at 575 Pacific Street from March 16 to April 22, 2018 with an opening reception on Friday, March 23 from 6 to 9 PM.

“The Emerging Goddess” presents an edgy, modern presentation of figurative art promoting the female as a powerful figure. Forrest shows a collection of female icons unleashing the spirit from within commenting, “The empowering female icon, whether religious, spiritual or superhero - she is what we envision within ourselves. Who we strive to be. Who we want to become. Who we are when all the other layers are taken off to reveal our inner selves.” “We’re pleased to present this powerful show, which highlights the creativity, skill, and diversity of one of our many professional artist members,” added LAA Co-Director, Mark Macrides.

Christa Forrest is a Stamford based artist specializing in pastel, oil, acrylic and mixed media. After spending 20 years working in a career in finance, she decided to follow her true passion and become a full time artist. Christa spends her time sharing her passion with others, teaching others to be creative and exploring the world's landscape and recreating it on canvas. Her work is a mixture of realism, exploration, experimentation and pure fun. Christa is a member of Stamford's Loft Artists Association and exhibits throughout Fairfield County and New York. A current project in the works is to help others unleash their creative soul through art, music and creative expression. Using art, yoga and meditation to help fuel the soul, Creative Souls Art will explore creating from within and intuitively without the pressure of perfection and judgment.

“The Emerging Goddess” is open Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 4:30 pm. Admission and parking are free. Handicapped access is available by appointment. For directions and more information visit loftartists.org.

The Loft Artists Association — celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2018 — is a non-profit organization dedicated to building connections within Fairfield County’s visual arts community and introducing the general public to artists and their work. Their grassroots events attract thousands of visitors throughout the tri-state area and have been recognized by funding agencies, including the Connecticut Commission on the Arts, corporate and private sponsors, the City of Stamford and by visitors who return year after year.
