Traffic Advisory
This is a traffic advisory from the Darien Police Department. Portions of Sedgwick Ave. will be closed (weather permitting) for the next three Saturdays (Sept 20th, Sept 27th and October 4th, 2014) between the hours of 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM. The road closures are needed to allow for a multiple large tree removal project being undertaken by CL&P and their subcontractors. The size and placement of the trees involved require that portions of the road be closed to ensure safety while the trees are being removed.
September 20th: Sedgwick Ave will be closed between Leroy Ave. and Lakeside Ave.
September 27th: Sedgwick Ave will be closed between Leroy Ave. and Lakeside Ave.
Officers from the Darien Police Department will be deployed to assist motorists and pedestrians in the area. Appropriate detour signage will also be in place to assist motorists unfamiliar with alternate routes. Residents of the affected area may experience slight delays in getting out or back to their homes, but officers will be there to assist residents in leaving/accessing the work area when it is safe to do. We thank all motorists and residents in advance for your patience and understanding as CL&P attempts to ensure reliability in their overhead transmission system.
