Shots fired in Darien lead to arrest of two residents & off-duty police officers

State Police Detectives Arrest Darien Residents in Shooting Investigation

On August 1st, 2015, the Connecticut State Police - Central District Major Crime Squad (CDMCS), initiated an investigation regarding a shots fired complaint in the town of Darien.  An unoccupied vehicle, owned by James Martin, parked in the driveway at his residence sustained numerous gun shots to the exterior of the vehicle. 

After a 2-month long investigation an arrest warrant was completed and submitted for each of the two suspects. Stamford Superior Court signed both warrants and the suspects voluntarily turned themselves in at State Police Troop I – Bethany where they were processed.

Suspect #1: James Martin - 24 Wakeman Road, Darien, CT.

Charges:

  • Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree
  • Breach of Peace 2nd Degree
  • Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm

Court: Stamford Superior Court on October 19, 2015

Bond:  $5,000

Suspect #2: Daniel Ehret - 188 Middlesex Road, Darien, CT.

Charges:      

  • Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree
  • Breach of Peace 2nd Degree
  • Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm

Court: Stamford Superior Court on October 19, 2015

Bond: $5,000
