Fairfield, Conn – The Inaugural Biker-Barre + Bubbly event held on September 13th to heighten awareness for Hydrocephalus, an incurable brain condition, raised over $18,000 to help support the Pediatric Hydrocephalus Foundation (PHF). The organization supports research in search of a cure for the brain condition.
The unique fundraiser, which brought together dozens of spinning and barre enthusiasts, was sponsored by Zen Ride Spinning Studio of Fairfield, and Bar Method of Fairfield. An additional 30+ friends and supporters joined for the silent auction and after-party.
Participants sweated, sculpted and stretched, and then enjoyed bubbly and bites while bidding on silent auction items.
Biker – Barre + Bubbly was the brainchild of Cindy and Tim Shanley of Fairfield whose three-year-old daughter Reagan has hydrocephalus. Cindy, a spin instructor at ZenRide, organized the fundraiser and helped design the ‘biker – barre’ program with Bridget McBride, co-owner of the Bar Method of Fairfield.
