Fleetwood Macked, the most authentic Fleetwood Mac tribute band on the East Coast, will be the featured artist in the A Night of Music rock concert at Fairfield University's Quick Center for the Arts on Saturday, November 21, at 6:00 pm. This is the sixth annual benefit concert held in memory of Keith Lebo and Jim DeSantie. Net proceeds from the concert will benefit The Lebo-DeSantie Center for Liver & Pancreatic Disease at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Attendees also will enjoy performances by The Christopher Robin Band and The Alpaca Gnomes. Special guest artists who will be sitting in throughout the evening include Denise Daniels Biagi, Murray The Wheel, and Samantha Dorsi.
'Don't Stop' Thinking About a Cure
One of rock's most successful hit-making machines comes to life with this visually and sonically uncanny tribute performance. Fleetwood Macked brings favorite songs like "Don't Stop", "Go Your Own Way", "Rhiannnon" and "Landslide" to the stage with performances that bring audiences to their feet every time. The members of Fleetwood Macked transform themsleves into Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Christine McVie, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood with amazing precision and exciting performances that keep audiences returning again and again.
Christopher Robin has opened for, shared the stage with or recorded with a long list of artists including Joe Higgs, Clarence Clemmons, Gregg Allman, Robert Cray, The Marshall Tucker Band, Del McCoury and Peter Yarrow, among others. Additionally, he is still called upon to sing and play guitar for the original "Lady Outlaw" Jessi Colter. These experiences have earned him the reputation of being a true musician's musician in addition to being a high-energy crowd pleaser. With three CDs under his belt, Christopher and his band of all-star players, including his "Little Brother" Trevor Taylor, continue to maintain an extensive national touring schedule.
About the Inspirations: Keith Lebo and Jim DeSantie
Keith Lebo, a lifelong area musician, started playing clubs at 14 years old and played in several area bands during his musical career. Keith passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2009. One year later, his brother-in-law, Jim DeSantie, passed away from pancreatic cancer. Jim was a proud Marine and proud of his country. He lived his life with a high moral standard that never wavered. This is the fifth annual benefit concert that has been organized by their wives, Charlene Lebo and Suzanne DeSantie, in memory of their husbands.
A Night of Music will be hosted by radio personality Brian Smith. Smith is perhaps best known as host of 99.1 WPLR's longest running morning show. He also hosted his own afternoon talk show on WICC-AM, and more recently was a news anchor on FM News 101.9 in New York City. Tickets Are Going Fast
The event will begin at 6pm, followed by the concert at 7pm. Tickets are $25 per person for the concert, $50 per person for the concert plus pre-show reception featuring appetizers from around the world, and $100 per person VIP tickets including the concert, pre-show reception and artist Meet & Greet after the performance. Net proceeds will be used to help those who are fighting pancreatic cancer. Funds will support education, screening and patient support services through the St. Vincent's Lebo-DeSantie Center for Liver & Pancreatic Disease at St. Vincent's Medical Center through Swim Across the Sound.
