Fairfield Rotary to Collect Food & Funds for Veterans

Fairfield, CT —  On Tuesday, June 14th, The Fairfield Rotary Club and Chip’s Restaturant will have a fundraiser and food collection for veterans. Normally, Fairfield Rotary collects food and money at the Fairfield Memorial Day Parade but with the weather cancelation was unable to do that this year. Chips has graciously offered to provide food allowing all proceeds to benefit veterans. Chips is located at 525 Tunxis Hill Cut Off in Fairfield.  Additionally Rotary will be collecting non perishable items to be donated to the “Homes For The Brave” in Bridgeport.  Items for donation can include canned goods, coffee, powder creamers, twin size sheets, pillows, towels and any toiletries. 12% of the adult homeless population  has worn a uniform and served the United States. In Connecticut, it is estimated that there are 300 homeless Veterans. Nationwide over 1 million Veterans are considered at risk for becoming homeless.

ABRI/Homes for the Brave's mission is: “With an emphasis on Veterans, we provide housing and services necessary to help homeless individuals return to productive and meaningful life.”
