FWHS Entrepreneurs Offer Shirts with Charity Benefit

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The first week of sales has begun for Fairfield Warde’s entrepreneurship class. The Fairfield Warde High School class is simulating a business by selling shirts to the community. In addition, a percentage of the proceeds will be donated to the Norma F Pfriem Breast Care Center.

Entrepreneurship is a course designed to expose students to the risks and rewards of creating and running a small business. Students will explore aspects of entrepreneurship through problem solving, critical thinking, and the development of projects and activities. This course will provide students the opportunity to create change by channeling their passions and interests into businesses. Entrepreneurship focuses on recognizing a business opportunity, starting a business based on opportunity, and operating and maintaining that business. Students will develop an appreciation for and understanding of entrepreneurship in our economy providing them with strategies that will assist them as they develop into responsible citizens, wage-earners and consumers.

About the shirt sales: If you are a Warde alum, have a kid who attended, or one who will attend in the future, this shirt is the one for you! Even if you don’t have an association with the school, purchasing this shirt will demonstrate support for the business education program at Warde High School as well for Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center. The shirts will be produced by local business MacWear using the 50/50 (Polyester and cotton) athletic material. The shirts come in a men's Small, Medium, Large, and Extra Large. The Students will be selling them for $20 each, so show some school pride!
