Op Hope's "Hope for the Holidays" Program Helps Local Families in Need

Fairfield, CT - Add a little bit of joy to your holiday season by doing something that will make a difference for another family. Please consider donating to Operation Hope’s annual “Hope for the Holidays” program. “Hope for the Holidays” helps connect local families in need with generous individuals and organizations in our community to provide food and gifts they might otherwise go without.

Operation Hope’s “Hope for the Holidays” program identifies close to 200 people in need of basic items each year. By “adopting” a family or individual, you can purchase items from a wish list completed by each of the men, women and children served by Operation Hope. General donations and gift cards to local stores are also welcome. Individuals, families, civic groups and businesses have helped us supply thousands of gifts in the past, and we appreciate their continued support. Sponsors will receive gift lists in late

November. We are also in need of on-site volunteers to organize the gift distribution on December 5-7, at St. Anthony of Padua Church on South Pine Creek Road in Fairfield. Children are welcome during the volunteer shifts; we ask that children under the age of 5 are supervised and kept with parents. Being a sponsor or helping with the gift distribution can be meaningful volunteer opportunities for the whole family to enjoy together. If you are interested in sponsoring a family or individual, or would like to volunteer to sort and transport gifts, please contact us by November 20th: Hope for the Holidays Program

Coordinator Evie Angel at evieangel@aol.com or Volunteer Program Manager Donna Schmidt at dschmidt@operationhopect.org or 292-5588 ext. 207.

“Every year the families may change but the need does not,” said Carla Miklos,

Executive Director, Operation Hope. “The families who are recipients of your generosity are so grateful for the help. This effort not only brings the true meaning of the holidays to them, but also to our community. By becoming a donor to ‘Hope for the Holidays,’ you will make happy holiday memories possible for the men, women and children who need it most.”
