Dec. 3 Wilton Rocks Supports CT Food Bank

WILTON, CONN. – Wilton Rocks for Food presents its second benefit concert for the Connecticut Food Bank and the Wilton Food Pantry on Saturday, December 3, 8:00PM, at the Trackside Teen Center in Wilton. The concert will feature more than 30 Wilton musicians.

Last year’s event raised more than $26,000 for the two organizations. Wilton resident Andy Schlesinger, the concert’s organizer, says the goal this year is to raise $40,000.

The event will feature food, beer and a silent auction in addition to the concert. The event is open to adults age 21 and over. One-hundred percent of proceeds from the event will be donated to the two organizations.

Schlesinger said last year’s concert featured Wilton-based performers playing a variety of rock and pop over three hours to a packed house of 200 people. He added that the strong response encouraged him to make the event a tradition.

“Andy and the Wilton community have put tremendous effort into this event,” said Connecticut Food Bank CEO Bernie Beaudreau. “We know it will be a great evening, because last year’s event was so popular and this year’s event is already a near sell out. We are grateful to all who are organizing, performing in, attending or supporting this event to feed neighbors in need.”

Wilton Rocks for Food is Saturday, December 3, at 8:00PM, at the Trackside Teen Center, 15 Station Road in Wilton. Information about the event is at http://wiltonrocks2.brownpapertickets.com/ and on the Wilton Rocks Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/WiltonRocks/.
