NAMI Fairfield Board Seeks New Directors

Fairfield, CT - The National Alliance on Mental Illness – Fairfield (NAMI-Fairfield) is recruiting applicants to expand and diversify its Board of Directors. Ideal candidates should feel passionate about the organization’s mission to support individuals who struggle with their mental health and their families, and are interested in getting involved to help meet the community’s mental health needs.

Individuals with a direct personal or professional connection to mental illness are especially encouraged to apply.

NAMI-Fairfield is a vital resource to the local community. In addition to monthly support groups, the organization provides educational programming, expert speaker presentations, book groups and advocacy – all open to the public and free of charge. Board President Cheryll Houston says that working with their terrific team has given her a wonderful sense of fulfillment, and an opportunity to be involved with the community. “We are looking forward to having new folks get involved to share their ideas and help us be the best support that we can be," she commented.

Information about applying to join the Board or becoming a member can be found on the group's website, www.NAMIFairfield.org, or by emailing Loretta Jay, lorettajay@parasolservices.com.
