Tony Dovolani to Host Golf Invitational

Stratford, CT -- Tony Dovolani, longtime Connecticut resident and Dancing with the Stars Mirror Ball Champion, will be hosting The Tony Dovolani Golf Invitational for Special Needs Children and Families on Friday July 14th. This will be the second tournament for Tony Dovolani’s Not-For-Profit Organization, Golf for Special Needs Children. Mill River Country Club, Stratford, Connecticut will once again be hosting the day’s events. Proceeds from this year’s event will go to The Kennedy Center’s Autism Project.

The Kennedy Center’s Autism Project was established a little over a decade ago in response to the rapid increase in children being diagnosed with autism and the lack of affordable, accessible and quality services available for many children and families from Fairfield and New Haven counties. The Autism Project supports children 3-21 and their families through: social activity groups, respite, recreation and sibling groups, behavioral services, family support as well as information and referral services. Since its inception, over 500 children have benefited from these highly- subsidized services which are supported through grants and fundraising activities.

Last year’s inaugural event raised $40,000 which was gifted to the Only You Foundation.

"Our inaugural event was a resounding success and my family and I look forward to continually giving back to our community that has given us so much. Being the parent of a special needs son has really opened my eyes to the myriad of challenges a family is presented with and the support needed," said Tony.

The year’s event will culminate in a show featuring Tony Dovolani with former DWTS pro Chelsie Hightower and a team of professional dancers from the Dance With Me Studios.

The golf package is $300 per golfer and includes Golf, Lunch, Dinner and the Show. Dinner and Show tickets only are $150 per person.
