The Town of Fairfield invites the public to attend its annual celebration of Arbor Day on Saturday, April 26 at 9 am at the Greenfield Hill Cemetery, 2736 Bronson Road.
First Selectman Mike Tetreau, Fairfield Tree Warden Ken Placko, Fairfield Forestry Committee Chair Misty Beyer and Melanie Marks, who volunteered to clean up the cemetery, will join Chris Martin, State Forester for Connecticut's Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, who will give the Town an award in honor of Fairfield being a "Tree City USA."
Fairfield has been proudly named a "Tree City USA" for the past 27 years. Two dogwood trees will be planted at the cemetery.
