FC Children's Choir Spring Concert: Sat. May 10

Fairfield County Children's Choir, guided by Jon Noyes, Music Director and Founder, will present its spring concert, "Singing America: A Celebration of the Great American Songbook", on Saturday, May 10 at 7pm at Fairfield Warde High School Auditorium in Fairfield, CT.

With their program, the 300 young choristers will demonstrate and celebrate the positive power of this body of uniquely American songs. The composers who gave rise to what has become known as the Great American Songbook translated positive values and an optimistic spirit into the soundtrack of American life. Their songs offered hope of better days during the Great Depression, built morale during two world wars, and helped build social bridges within our culture.

Familiar tunesmiths as George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, and Richard Rodgers will be featured.

Founded in 1995, the FCCC provides children the opportunity to experience music making of the highest caliber. The group has performed to critical acclaim throughout the United States including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, as well as in Canada and Europe.

Tickets are $15 and $20 and will be available at the door or by calling 203-414-4292, www.SingFCCC.org
