Fairfield Parks & Rec Provides Extensive Summer Fun

Fairfield's Parks and Rec Department is a premier provider of summer entertainment for all ages. Marinas, boating, beaches, golf and special events are all part of what our Parks & Rec Department oversees.

This summer the department has really pulled out all the stops. In honor of the 375th, the summer schedule has included even MORE fun. If you haven't yet done so, visit the extensive P&R website for a complete listing of offerings.

Here are a few 'honorable mentions' in the weeks to come:

· Fairfield Day At Quassy – Hurry this is on July 31st. Amusement park fun for the whole family.

· 'Shrek the Musical' is this summer's Teen Theater offering. Tickets can be purchased for August 1–3 and 9–10 for the show.

· On August 7th it is outdoor family movie time at Jennings Beach serving up 'Despicable Me 2'.

· Don't forget every Wednesday are the Peanut Butter Jam Concerts at the Sherman Green at 12:30 for the little ones.

· A great favorite of many Fairfielder's are the every Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday Free Summer Concerts at the Gazebo. Bring a blanket, a lawn chair and a snack and enjoy quality musical entertainment from the Big Band Sound to Country to Rock. There is something for everyone to enjoy on sultry summer evenings in the center of town.

Fairfield has an exceptional Parks and Rec Department that has been making the 375th celebration extra special.
