Tomato Tasting at Fairfield Woods Branch Library, Sept. 6

Nothing says summer like the taste of fresh tomatoes. Did you know there are over 350 different varieties, all with their own unique flavor? What's your favorite type? Are your tomatoes the plumpest, juiciest, sweetest? Share some of your favorites from this year's garden.

On Saturday, Sept. 6 from 1-3pm, the Fairfield Woods Branch Library will celebrate summer and display and offer a taste of everyone's harvest along with some fresh mozzarella, basil, and crusty bread. In addition, Eric Frisk, experienced gardener and volunteer at Fairfield's Drew Community Garden, will teach how to save the seeds from the tomatoes for next year's crop.

Fairfield Woods Branch Library is located at 1147 Fairfield Woods Road.

All programs at the Fairfield Public Library are free. For more information about this and other programs, visit: www.fairfieldpubliclibrary.org, or call 203-255-7308.
