Rolfing is a unique and valuable system of body work (not massage or chiropractic) that uses deep manipulation of the body's soft tissue to realign and balance the body's myofascial structure. Named after its founder, Dr. Ida Rolf, rolfing improves posture, relieves chronic pain, reduces stress and may be helpful pre- or post-surgery.
Explore the fascial system (the thin sheath of tissue that surrounds muscles) and discover how it affects all the other systems in the human structure with rolfing practitioner Cody Smolik. Rolfing has also been used as an alternative method of treatment for burn survivors, those with multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy and autism. This talk will take place on Monday, October 6 at 7:00 pm in the Rotary Room at Fairfield's Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road. Registration is requested.
